MENDHAM, NJ — A mandatory boil water advisory issued by the Southeast Morris County Municipal Utilities Authority (SMCMUA) has been lifted for Mendham residents.

The advisory was issued on Wednesday night, after a water main break in the area of Tingley Road caused a sinkhole in the roadway that required overnight repairs.

Water samples were collected for testing and returned clean, according to SMCMUA officials.

Customers no longer need to boil their water, but they should flush household pipes, ice makers, water fountains, etc., prior to using for drinking or cooking using these guidelines:
